March 14, 2017 Commented Hi James, I've considered the F4 as well, but I've read some reviews in which people would complain about its preamps and the overall sturdiness of the device. Indeed, the 8-channel support is an attractive feature, but the preamp quality remains the main deal to me. I'm currently just using one mic and planning on getting a second in the near future. I didn't know about the digital limiter... how negative is it in regards to dynamic range? It's essentially for field recording. The H6 does a great job, but its preamps don't allow me to go an extra mile and it lacks 192 Khz.
March 14, 2017 Commented Hi Tim, since the 722 and 744T were already discontinued, your predictions might actually become true later on. An alternative that I find to be interesting is the 633 mixer/recorder. Maybe the next generation of the 7xx will follow the same path as these mixers/recorders...

March 6, 2017 Commented Thanks a lot for all of your tips, handonsound! It has absolutely helped and I'll look into the Countrymans and Sanken whenever I have the chance. I'll likely go on location in a couple of months and I'll experiment with these techniques. When I do, I'll let you know here in the DSX.
